Interested in Jewish Genealogy?

With the dissolution of the Capital Region Jewish Genealogical Society (an affiliate of IAJGS), CDGS created a Special Interest Group for those from the region interested in Jewish genealogy. In June of 2024, we will host an informal gathering for those who have expressed interest. We want to know what you would like to learn and to share thoughts amongst Jewish genealogical researchers.

If you checked off this interest when you renewed your CDGS membership, you are on the SIG list and we we will contact you. If you are not on our list, and this group is of interest and you would like to join the SIG, please write to JewishSIG@cdgsny.org with the subject line "Join Jewish SIG".

Greetings!
The Jewish Special Interest Group of the Capital District Genealogical Society will be holding an informal in-person meeting on Thursday, February 6th. It is scheduled for the Pine Hills Branch of the Albany Public Library (517 Western Avenue) from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Bring your laptops, your questions, and/or your latest Jewish research projects. For those needing help, we can collectively discuss ways to help or make suggestions. Also, as we discussed at our first meeting last year, the Society is soliciting us to make suggestions for future programs (presentations) that we would like to see. Let us know, if you have ideas.
We hope to see some of you and catch up on our shared interest in researching Jewish ancestors!

Best.

Not all meetings of the Jewish Special Interest Group are in-person and local. We also meet online using Zoom. So don't let the fact that you don't live nearby. stop you from joining this group.
